Tripadvisor reveals top travel destinations for 2023 according to global travel community
Tripadvisor kicks off Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2023 with Best of the Best Destinations

 One year ago when Bali was listed as the "Fourth Most Popular Destination in the world " I commented that I can not believe that Travelers wish to to go to Cancun and Dubai over Bali in 2022.

It appears that I was right and we have moved back to 2nd Best Designation in the world

Travel site TripAdvisor has named Bali as the second most popular destination in the world for 2023 in the Travelers’ Choice Award.

Bali was chosen for the list because of its charming nature. Bali has beautiful beaches, challenging waves for surfers, and a diverse landscape and culture.  

The location, nicknamed the Island of the Gods, has successfully climbed from fourth place in 2022 to second place in 2023.

The award is an annual event held by TripAdvisor and is intended to select tourist destinations that consistently provide the best and most comprehensive experience for tourists.

The Travellers’ Choice Award for destinations ratings is based on the quality and quantity of reviews during the period November 2021 to October 2022. TripAdvisor has ranked Dubai as the world’s most popular destination for the second year in a row.

Apart from the global rankings, there are also subcategories for accommodation, restaurants, and other interesting things to do in these tourist spots. Here are the top 10 most popular destinations in the world for 2023 according to TripAdvisor:

1. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
2. Bali, Indonesia
3. London, England
4. Rome, Italy
5. Paris, France
6. Cancun, Mexico
7. Crete, Greece
8. Marrakech, Morocco
9. Dominican Republic

    The site was visited by the State-Owned Enterprises Minister, Erick Thohir, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Puan Mahrani, who expects the new hospital could prevent Indonesians from travelling abroad for medical treatment. She said: “We have heard that many Indonesians, who are able to seek treatment abroad, go to Singapore, Malaysia and so on.”
    
    
    
    
    
    Mahrani added: “With the existence of the Bali International Hospital, we hope that the trend will change, so that Indonesians prefer to seek treatment in the country rather than abroad.”
    
    Indonesia loses a potential turnover of Rp97 trillion (approximately US$6.4 billion) every year, as two million Indonesians seek medical treatment overseas.
    
    Mahrani hopes this trend will change, thanks to Bali International Hospital, and is encouraging more international-class health tourism in the country.

    Empowered by this partnership with Mayo Clinic, BIH aims to open five world-class centers of excellence, notably in critical illnesses management of Cardiology, Oncology, and Neurology treatment. In addition, Gastro-Hepato (Gastroenterology) and Orthopedics will be medical specialties fully integrated into this Class A+ Hospital. 

    This new public institution will be equipped with a range of state-of-the-art devices operated at a technological level, such as artificial intelligence and robotics, never seen before in Indonesia.” said drg. Mira Dyah Wahyuni, President Director of PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC.

     WALKING DISTANCE TO NEW MEDICAL TOURISM CENTER:
    One of the missing ingredients to make Bali a world-class location for people seeking first-class accommodations has been the lack of World Class health care.
    
    The President of Indonesia in October of last year announced that they designated Sanur as a Special Economic Zone.
    
    According to the Indonesian government. This will be the first integrated medical health facility. They expect that 4% to 8% of the Indonesian public, approximately 123,000 to 240,000 people who now seek medical treatment overseas, will be attracted to less expensive professional medical care in Sanur which requires constantly fewer travel costs and no passport.
    
    The special economic zone in Sanur will feature medical and tourism projects, including hospitals, clinics, hotel accommodations, an ethnomedicinal botanical garden,
    
    The zone will also provide MICE facilities (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), and a commercial center.
    
    The total land area projected for the KEK Sanur is 41.26 hectares, with investments worth Rp. 10.2 trillion.
    
    Govt project that up to 43,647 jobs may be created by the Special Economic Zone.
    
    That’s potentially over 30,000 new residents of Sanur and surrounding areas seeking to buy or rent accommodations
