Bali now has Modern Eye Hospital with Lasik Surgery

As I wrote 3 years ago “there are more than two things sure in life”
There are three, death, taxes, and cataracts for a large percentage of people in their elder years.

After completing cataract lens surgery three years in Kula Lumpur my eyes were fantastic for  the last three years and then recently a cloud began to appear on my left eye.

I thought maybe it was another cataract but I soon found out on the internet and then later confirmed by Dr. Ekka that I had Posterior capsular opacity.

Posterior capsular opacification (PCO) occurs when a cloudy layer of scar tissue forms behind your lens implant. This may cause you to have a blurry or hazy vision, or to see a lot of glare from lights. PCO is fairly common after cataract surgery, occurring in about 20% of patients

In essence, this is when material builds up behind the caract lens, some of it from the surgery itself.

When things start to affect my tennis I take action.

I went down to the Rumah Sakit Mata Bali Mandara hospital in Denpasar not knowing what to expect. 

When I arrived the exterior the building looked very small and my worries began. 

But immediately I was directed to underground parking, which  was very modern and well laid out right below the reception.

Once inside I discovered it was a modern hospital with huge waiting areas that are equivalent to many in the west.   

Shortly thereafter I was handled very professionally by the staff who opened an account for me. 

Make sure you bring your K.I.T.A.S if you have a working permit in Bali that will reduce the price by about 1/3. 

Within an hour I was sitting in front of a qualified doctor, Dr. Eka Surya.

I was immediately impressed with his diagnosis skills and excellent English skills as well as making it easy for me to make a decision.

Fortunately, my problem was small and within an hour of finally confirming it again yesterday morning, we did a LASIK surgery procedure calle JAG with new machines which took 2 minutes to do.

What does a YAG procedure do?

YAG laser capsulotomy is surgery to help you see clearly after cataract surgery. You may need this surgery because months or years after cataract surgery, your vision may get fuzzy again. This happens when a membrane in your eye, called the posterior capsule, becomes cloudy.

I am happy to say less than 12 hours after the surgery. My left eye is almost back to normal. 

Yesterday I went back for a checkup. And we discovered that the right eye also needed. The YAG procedure which was done within an hour.

3 hours later I was playing tennis better than ever with good eyesight. And managed to win a two hour session.

It's nice to see that Bali now has a first-class hospital for handling eyes for all all incomes.

Congratulations to the Bali government for establishing such a wonderful facility which frankly is as good as many that I've seen in most of the Western countries.

They will soon discover as my recent  states that “Every Day is a Holiday” in Bali. They will have no problem attracting their children and grandchildren to visit Grandma and Grandad. I have been predicting that Sanur, and Bali's East Coast would be the place that a large percentage of the 25% of the population of the world that are Baby Boomers would live in the future. I named our first Villa Complex Golden Villas because of the Golden Aged Owners and Guests who would be attracted to them.   Sanur designated as Special Economic Zone. Recently the President of Indonesia, fondly called Jokowi, announced here live that over 20 Hectares of land including the Grand Bali Beach Hotel is now designated as a Special Economic Zone. What is really exciting is that this special economic zone is within walking distance of our three Bali Luxury Villas complexes This new special economic zone will be mostly utilized for medical tourism, primarily for the elderly from around the world. Boomers from around the world will come here and be treated for everything from a facelifts to cancer treatment at a fraction of the cost in their country.   The famous Mayo Clinic of the U.S.A. is consulting on this complex. If you drive by there right now you will see buildings going up like crazy. I am sure they will proudly show this economic miracle to the G 20 leaders and associates when they come here.  Largest Real Estate Boom in Sanur History: I have been predicting for years that there would be a real estate boom in Sanur from Baby Boomer Demand. It is happening right now. There has never seen more demand for Sanur Land, Villas, Homes and even million-dollar 100-million-dollar hotels than in my 26 years living here. For example, recently I had a call from one contact who has an owner from Jakarta looking for a hundred million dollar plus hotel in Sanur. Later that day I had another contact call me and tell me that he would like to share with me a development plan that is taking place on the Southern Beach of Sanur which will include hundreds of beachside expensive villas and a first-class marina. Boomers Moving from Crazy, Gridlocked Southwestern Areas: Then a few days later during a private Bali Hai cruise one person after another told me that they want to move away from Canggu, Kerobokan and even Seminyak because it has just gotten crazy over there with grid lock traffic and a dramatic rise in crime. Some of our Villa owners are reporting extraordinary rental prices right now for long-term rentals. I am receiving one to three requests every week for long-term rental villas. Couple with that there has been a large number of improvements in Sanur restaurants, grocery marts etc. and Sanur is now the place to retire as I predicted. I personally along with a lot of seniors have been playing tennis twice a week at the new first class Liga Club which has a gym, six tennis courts, Pool, and other facilities.
