Denpasar -
The Bali Provincial Industry and Trade Office encourages district/city governments in Bali to hold cheap markets in collaboration with market managers. This is an effort to control the price of basic commodities in the market.
The head of the Bali Province Industry and Trade Office, I Wayan Jarta, said that his attention now is chicken eggs whose prices have skyrocketed in recent times. Meanwhile, the price of other basic commodities such as cooking oil and rice, according to him, is still relatively stable.
"Normally the price of chicken eggs is Rp. 24 thousand per kilogram. But in reality in the market there are Rp. 27 thousand and Rp. 28 thousand and more. That is what I see based on market analysis and the average increase is Rp. 4 thousand per kilogram," Jarta said, Tuesday. (30/8/2022).

Jarta said egg prices soared due to high feed prices.
"If we talk about feed, it's upstream. Will there be a policy from the government, for example, to encourage it to be cheaper through subsidies or what," he said.
Meanwhile, the Denpasar City Government as of Tuesday (30/8/2022) added two locations for market operations, namely Sanglah Market and Anyar Sari Market. Previously, market operations had taken place at Badung Market, Kreneng Market, Phula Kerti Market and Agung Market.
Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, said the same thing regarding the high price of eggs in the market. Based on the information from the collectors in the market that he received, the price of eggs has increased from the breeders.
"Chicken eggs produced from breeders in Bali are sent outside the island of Bali first. This is the attention of the Denpasar City Government who will coordinate with the Bali Provincial Government and hopes that commodities produced in Bali such as chicken eggs can be fulfilled first," he said.
Based on the results of a market price survey conducted by TPID Denpasar on Tuesday (30/8/2022), it is known that the price of shallots is Rp. 25 thousand per kg, cayenne pepper is Rp. 45 thousand per kg, large red chilies are Rp. 50 thousand per kg, and chicken eggs are Rp. 55 thousand per crate.
Then, the price in market operations, as for the price for shallots is Rp. 23 thousand per kg, cayenne pepper is Rp. 43 thousand per kg, large red chilies at Rp. 48 thousand per kg, and chicken eggs at Rp. 53 thousand per crate.
To note, Denpasar City experienced inflation reaching 6.72 percent in July 2022 and this figure is the highest inflation rate that occurred in Denpasar City. The market operation was held to assist the community in achieving cheaper prices for basic needs and also to reduce the inflation rate in Denpasar City.
