Yesterday while reflecting back on the previous 12 months I sent a thank you note to the Principal, staff and teachers at the Bali Gandhi Memorial International School.
In addition during the year we not only had to contend with getting vaccinations for our self but arranging vaccinations for them which was a difficult task in itself.o
Observing our older son going through a five minute graduation from grade 10 was certainly sad.
But then it dawned on me yesterday that not only our boys and us had a difficult time but the teachers were not able to use their God-given talents, their training and their physical presence to ensure that our boys received the maximum education available.
So I sent the following letter to the principal staff and teachers of the the Gandhi Memorial International School thanking them for their perseverance and efforts throughout almost two years of online schooling.
To the Principal, Madame Jaba Biswas, Vice Principal, home room teachers Grade 11A Ms. Jyoti, Grade 7B Ms. Bharati all teachers management and staff at G.M.I.S. (Gandhi Memorial International School), Bali.
My darling wife Azizah and our two wonderful sons Daruis and Xander want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the extra efforts, patience, & persistence that you provided since March 2020 to our two sons.
We can only empathize with you knowing that for almost two years you were not able to visit your family and friends in India.
We also assume that it was absolutely exhausting trying to share your educational knowledge with the students throughout the year.
We know at times it was almost unbearable for us parents having to watch our children suffer with online training and try to instill discipline and understanding during this pandemic.
All parents should also be congratulated for their endurance in this matter.
As I always say to my family and staff “Every problem has a solution, every solution is time money or a combination of both”.
Time will solve this problem.
There's no question in our minds that early in the new year we will almost be back to normal.
By the end of next year the pain and anguish suffered by all of us during this horrific pandemic will be forgotten.
Think Positive, Act Positive, and Be Positive.
Azizah, Lawrence, Darius & Xander.
