I must say I was a little startled this morning when driving up near the government buildings, on my way to tennis courts at 6;15 am.

The road was blocked 90% of the way by half naked men.

Having been to Papua New Guinea on my way from Hawaii to here on my yacht I was very familiar with their costumes

It was obvious some type of demonstration regarding government regulations in that area was their complaint.

I just passed them easily enough and was surprised to hear that chaos broke out later.

Probably a little overblown by the press

TRIBUN-BALI.COM, DENPASAR - Chaos and stone-throwing occurred during a demonstration to be carried out by Papuan Student Alliance the Committee of Bali (AMP), but the police were disbanded, precisely in front of Casa Bunga, Jalan Raya Puputan, Renon, Denpasar , Bali , Wednesday 1 December 2021.

Based on information compiled by the Tribune Bali , AMP plans to Bali hold a demonstration in the context of Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the West Papua Declaration of Independence with the demand to revoke the extension of Special Autonomy Volume II and give the West Papuan people the right to self-determination.

However, because it was not permitted by the police, a riot broke out in the action which was attended by about 35 participants, so that it had hampered the flow of traffic and community activities, at around 08.10 WITA.

The rock-throwing riot was also captured in a 57-second amateur video that went viral on social media.

The participants were also seen carrying sticks and stones.

"This action is carried out as an annual agenda that must be commemorated and carried out by the Committee AMP group Bali ," explained a source from the Tribune Bali .

The action plan will be carried out at the Renon Roundabout next to the United States Consulate, but the police temporarily do not allow the action to be carried out at the Renon Roundabout. (*).
