There are all sorts of fancy expensive diets, exercise machines and programs out there that guarantee you will lose weight. Most do not work.
Alternatively, you could buy some very expensive treadmills etc. or join a fitness club and hope that that would be the solution. Many will soon find that your bored and the Kilos will start being added on.
Shocked into Harsh Reality:
A little over a week ago I was very shocked and worried when I saw the scales hit almost 100 kg for the first time in in my life.
I also found that I was experiencing severe arthritis or gout in my right wrist for the first time in my life.
Playing tennis was excruciating. Even lying-in bed was painful.
My energy level dropped significantly, and I was feeling down with the never ending COVID - 19 Crises.
I went and had an ozone treatment which I mainly do to treat lifetime allergies.
While there I had my doctor friend test me for uric acid which is a sign of gout and arthritis in approximately 25 % of males over 40.
Sure, enough it was dangerously high.
What Caused the weight increase and Gout?
So, I asked myself what have I been doing different to bring this on?
First and foremost, after reading about gout in the wrist I discovered that white bread is one of the biggest culprits.
I realized that for the first time in decades I had been eating breakfast with some white bread occasionally and several times a week having beautiful sandwiches down in my office in Sanur for lunch.
Also, I must admit when my lovely wife brought some treats home for the boys I was snacking on them as well.
Kettle potato chips and chocolate certainly won't help you diet.
Strenuous exercise was not helping:
All this by the way while I was playing at least eight hours of strenuous tennis every week with our Sanur Tennis Club.
The days I didn't play tennis I did 10 laps around our huge pool and walked as well.
I discovered a long time ago that exercise does little to remove fat.
So, I stopped the bread and the snacks.
All these changes were for the better but the one that I believe is the most significant reason for me dropping 4 kg in less than a week is the fact that I am doing limited fasting daily.
Mini Fasting Program:
I have dinner at 6 PM and don't eat again until 11 AM the next day.
What this does is force your body at around 8 or 10 AM to start feeding off your body fat because your body is hungry.
Then for lunch I forgo carbs and have a lovely avocado's salad or fruit salad.
At 6 PM I have a normal dinner including pasta or potatoes etc.
After you get into the habit of not eating any breakfast or lunch until 11 or 12 you will find that you don't even miss it.
When you hear your stomach gurgling away you know that it's working.
Anyways this is what's working for me, and I will continue this because if I don’t want to be miserable, endanger my life and be forced to buy a whole new wardrobe at XXXL sizes.
I also have to prepare for Christmas when there are no limits to what you may eat especially when there is turkey sitting on the table and Turkey leftovers for several days later.
I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it works working for me, so I just want to share it.
Don't forget you will also save substantial money by not purchasing sandwiches, breakfasts, and treats.
I know this blog will generate lots of criticism. Especially from those in the healthcare business who will lose money.
I also hope that there's lots of you who agree with most of what I have to say and have some suggestions on how to make it even better.
