Editors Comments:
Optimists win, Pessimists lose.
This past two weeks I received some very nasty comments on our Bali + World News and Views blogs all the way from fraud to bogus information etc. regarding several posts I made since last Friday.
Here are just a few of the comments
“Let's see... after like millions hoax that the government announced to us, let's see how this things came true”
“More BS. Been only going on for 18 months.
If you understand Indonesian politics, the gossip tradition, you'll stop giving a hoot about these recurrent announcements.”
“We are tided with promising all the time”
“I will believe only after they open the borders. Too many stop starts, so I lost interest.”
My posts were published in published news in verse Bali Sun newspaper and then confirmed in this article on CNN - Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Uno Says Bali Tourism Will Open in October
Even though it was confirmed on C.N.N. Indonesia people didn't believe.
And I understand, we've had a lot of false starts since July of last year.
As I said in one reply "it is better to be an optimist. Both optimism and pessimism are diseases and can spread. So, I'd rather spread optimism than pessimism".
Having been a corporate leader for over 50 years now I am aware of the negative news a leader can receive.
We are often chastised and criticized by losers when we make the wrong decisions but rarely complemented when we make the right decisions.
Great Job by Federal & State Leaders & Staff:
I for one want to complement the local government under Gov. Koster and especially the federal government under Pres. Jokowi for handling COVID -19 in a professional and competent manner since it’s beginning.
Extra Special thanks for the Minister of tourism Saniaga Uno who has been fighting so hard to reopen Indonesia to International Tourists.
While many countries including our southern neighbour Australia are way behind on vaccinations and modern protocol to handle the disease Bali and Indonesia have been way ahead.
Bali more ready than most tourist areas in the world.
I've been vaccinated with two doses since March while my cousins in modern countries such as Canada have just recently been vaccinated in the last couple months.
Almost 90% of all tourist industry workers are vaccinated including 100 % of my 70 + Staff.
Over 70% of the population in general has now been vaccinated thanks to the hard work of federal and government employees.
It has been a difficult challenge for the government. After all no one living has had to deal with this problem before.
I feel like my family my 70 + staff and their families are in good hands and that the local and federal governments will continue to do what is best for us.
The bottom line is that the Ineternational doors are officially open for International Tourism the details are below.
We have been prepared at our PT. Bali Luxury Villas since last year.
Our villas have never been cleaner and in better shape.
Our staff are well trained and have fulfilled all the government requirements for a safe hotel for guests to stay during the tail end of this COVID - 19 pandemic.
Wishing you all much success soon.
Get ready Bali is going to bounce back like nobody expected.
Cheers, Lawrence
