ANTARA, Bali-Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin aims to make Bali one of the destinations for international medical tourism.
Sadiekin made a statement on Friday at the first masonry ceremony of the Esthetic Center Building here at Sangla Central General Hospital (RSUP).
“Following the president’s instructions, we will build a new industry (in Bali) separate from the tourism industry. It is medical care that is closer to nature and culture tourism,” he said.
To support this project, the government plans to build four international standard medical service centers in the Bali region.

“We are building four centers. First we will build a state-owned enterprise (SOE / BUMN) hospital in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic in the Sanur Special Economic Zone.
Then we will build this special aesthetic unit at Sanur Hospital. We will build it, Denpasar, “said Saddykin.
The other two consist of biotechnology development at Udayana University, Bali and the construction of a hospital in Kula Kula Bali (Bali Turtle Island) in collaboration with an international private organization.
Saddykin emphasized that the marketing goal of Bali’s medical tourism is foreign tourists, especially from Asian and Bali people.
Meanwhile, the director of medical, nursing and support services at Sanglah Hospital in Ketut Ariawati said the construction of the Estetik Building will be completed on December 28, 2022.

Ariawati explained that the plan is that the Estetik building will have five floors. The floors from the bottom to the top function as parking lots, provide MCUs (health examinations) and beauty / beauty services, and cooperate with the operating rooms of Korean chain hospitals (still under investigation). , And an international standard spa.
Ariawati said the state budget (APBN) and a budget of Rp230 billion from the management of Sanglah Hospital were used to build the Estetik building and its medical equipment.
