Day 4 & 5:
The last two days including one last day on the boat were just as magical as the rest of the days.
On Day 4 We will woke up with beautiful sunrise while we were tied next to the ferns that we had moored to all night and watch the fireflies dance around in the moonlight.
Everyone looked relaxed after Three days of no Wi-Fi. pristine jungle, and plenty of wild animals.
A
Another cruise boat with guests that are excited about their three days to come.
And finally we exited the Sekoyar River and entered the main river for our last hour and 1 1/2 voyage to the park official quay.
Then it was time to say goodbye to the professional crew who took great care of every need. Starting with on the left the guide Julham, the Captain Agus . A great Chef Lgus, and first mate Andi.
A quick 20 minute trip took us back to the hotel
Again we were more than impressed with the Grand Kecuban Hotel which is not what we were expecting in a small town.
Testimonial to the fact that it is probably the best there was that a four-star general checked in the day before with his entourage.
The staff as always were very friendly when we checked back in.
And later we requested our reluctant teenagers who wanted to be back on Wi-Fi to join us for a walk down to the river for a final dinner.
The restaurant advertised fresh fish and duck unfortunately they had neither and we were pretty disappointed. But it was inexpensive.
Pangkalan Bun is a alcohol free state so don't go there expecting cocktails although they have some mock cocktails.
Sadly when we were ready to go back to the hotel a torrential downpour made it impossible to obtain any transport. So I looked on the weather map and predicted that it would end in about 15 minutes and sure enough it did.
Then we hastily walked back to the hotel put on Netflix and enjoyed the rest the evening
Day 5
The next day we rose went for a swim and enjoyed there are ample buffet in very modern surroundings.
We the took some shots around the hotel for future referrals.
They have a huge swimming pool that is extremely clean and lovely to swim in.
Then it was time to check out. Azizah was given a little gift by the Angela Lalala that helped us make a reservations.
She was extremely professional. Tell her Lawrence from Bali referred you and perhaps you can obtain a heavy discount as well.
The contact information for the hotel is as follows

We asked for a taxi to the airport and were a little apprehensive when they came up with the hotel transport which are usually super expensive. But they only charged 90,000 rupiah to go to the airport, around seven dollars, in a modern vehicle with a professional driver. A price that is hard to beat anywhere in the world.I was worried about our flights back and wondered were we going to run into the same long waits and miss our connections.
If I would have booked Lion Air back we would have flown from their to Semarang on to Jakarta and back to Bali. It would have taken 10 hours.
I organized a trip on Nam Air in the morning 1 hour and 15 minutes to Surabaya, a stopover for 1 1/2 hours and we hooked up with an AirAsia who just started fllying.
AirAsia was only a half-hour late so we got back to Bali were picked up by my professional driver drinks already in the back of the car and taken to one of our favourite restaurants for dinner
We returned to our home at Bali Paradise Beach Estate and immediately jumped in the pool with nice mixture of Volka and maple syrup Cocktails as the moon came up the Badung Straits.
We reflected back on one of the most memorable trips that I've ever been on my entire life.
As I said to my family most of the trips that you've been on with me and before me will be forgotten but this one will be in your memory for the rest your life.
Meeting the Orangutans in their natural habitat after being on rivers that could very well be in the same condition that they were millions of years ago certainly was a treat .
