It's important to understand that while Bali rank relatively low in this unofficial survey of Instagram postings we must remember that this was done during that time when there is no international travellers to Bali during the Covid- Crises.
I can almost guarantee you that after the crisis is over Bali will be in the top 10 perhaps or even the top five.
Why because earlier this year TripAdvisor polled its readers and concluded that Bali is currently ranked the number one sought after destination in the world.
Meaning that more people want to come here and than any other place in the world for vacation.
So naturally if more people come here after the international flights begin then we will move up the charts of most popular UNESCO world heritage sites on Instagram.

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - In recent years, Instagram has become part of the publication media in travel and tourism that allows people to share pictures and videos from certain places with millions of people in the world. Instagram users can use location tags to mark where they travel.
Launching from nzherald.co.nz, creative resources company Design Bundles conducted a survey of UNESCO World Heritage Sites that have been tagged on Instagram in 2021. To determine the statistics, the company took the top 145 sites and analyzed how often they were tagged on Instagram this year.
The first UNESCO World Heritage site on the list is Rome's historic center with about 61.2 million marked times. Followed by Rio de Janeiro with about 45 million times, and Venice and its lagoons with almost 25.8 million times marked. Meanwhile, the Balinese Cultural Landscape is on the list of the 18 most marked sites on Instagram.
Here's a list of the 30 World Heritage Sites UNESCO most marked on Instagram in 2021:
