An incredibly happy birthday to our wonderful son Xander who turned 17 today from his brother Darius, Mom Azizah, and I.
Xanders Birthday day started with Mom taking him early morning to avoid crowds to obtain his driver's license for the very first time.
When he returned later we had a lovely family swim and then photos at home and with his birthday present, a classic reconditioned Mercedes which has been in the family for over 12 years.
Later we had his favourite meal, Sushi .
Then it was home for the birthday cake.
In a few weeks he will be graduating from grade 10 at Gandhi GMIS school and had to choose subjects to suit his chosen career.
After much discussion about what he should do when he grows older I simply said to him “ the most important thing is that when you wake up in the morning you're excited to do what you're doing and that whatever you're doing is improving the lives of others”.
Money will come naturally if you are helping others achieve their goals.
One of my proudest moments was earlier this week while having a swim in the pool with him he notified me that his chosen profession was to follow his dad and be a businessman focusing on real estate development, brokerage, management, and hotel management.
It made me exceptionally proud when he said something along the lines he “wanted to learn from one of the best”.
I thought to myself when I teach him all the things that I have learned through trial and error over 50 years in the next 2 to 5 years he will be one of the most successful businessmen the world.
I taught him that to be a successful one must be a professional salesman no matter what profession you choose in the world.
To be a great salesman it is quite simple just find out what people want and give it to them a fair price with exceptional service following.
No doubt the young ladies will be attracted to Xander who is not only handsome but competent not spoiled and very caring.
But first, they will have to pass mom and dad's inspection. LOL
Xander is not your normal teenager.
He is responsible loving, caring and already has many characteristics of a true gentleman.
