Lion Air aircraft with flight number JT-610 on the Jakarta-Pangkal Pinang route reportedly lost contact shortly after taking off on Monday (10/29) morning.
This report is confirmed by Nur Andi from Lion Air. To BBC News Indonesia, he said the flight crew could not be contacted and it was still looking for the existence of the plane.
But he still could not confirm the status of the plane.
"We do not know whether the plane crashed or how. It is reportedly still confusing and we do not want to speculate. We have set up a crisis center and hopefully there is good news," said Nur Andi.
The plane took off at 06.20 WIB and lost contact at 06.33 WIB.
From the page Flightradar24 which detects commercial aircraft all over the world, it is known that JT-610 flights lost contact in the waters north of Karawang, West Java.
