Meikarta apartments sale has broken the record of Indonesia's Museum of Records, or MURI, for the largest number of buyers in one day.
Cikarang. The grand launching of the Meikarta apartments sale has broken the record of Indonesia's Museum of Records, or MURI, for the largest number of buyers in one day.
Meikarta is a giant city developed by Lippo Group near Jakarta.
MURI senior manager Yusuf Ngadri said on Saturday (13/05) that Meikarta managed to sell 16,800 units.
"This is an incredibly huge number," he said, adding that the figure broke MURI's previous record for subsidized apartments, of which 300 units were sold in a single day.
Yusuf said it may be difficult to break the record of Meikarta, which has proven itself attractive to buyers.
"It was incredible, it came as a surprise after hard work of Lippo Group," Meikarta project president Ketut Budi Widjaja said on Friday.
Ketut said the group is committed to fulfill the promise of distributing the apartment keys to buyers in December 2018.
Meikarta is the biggest project in Lippo's 67 years' history, with the total investment estimated at Rp 278 trillion ($21 billion).
Located in the heart of Indonesia's economic activities, the Jakarta-Bandung corridor, the modern giant city will offer various world-class facilities within it integrated area of 3,000 hectares owned by Lippo Group's industrial township developer Lippo Cikarang.
