Well, I was Prabowo side to be honest. But Joko Widodo is one of my favorite president until now! Maybe my answers is good enough for your question, maybe…

Joko Widodo/Jokowi personality is very identical with Indonesian people. If you doesn't know what Indonesians personalities was like, just look at Jokowi, then you know. Jokowi have native Indonesian personality have. Polite, Smiley, Full of jokes, Friendly, Kind, etc. But also have his own limit, could be triggered, etc.

Jokowi is our infrastructure hero. Indonesia was very famous with its lack of transportations and infrastructures in the past, but now Indonesia was in the “most significant developing country” because of him. Indonesia’s infrastructure became very awesome and successfully makes world surprised with this.

Jokowi looks very polite and careful, but no. I think he is one of the bravest president Indonesia have. He made Indonesia take back their freeport, say that Indonesia will attack Vanuatu, ask Australia to join ASEAN, etc.
Jokowi successful to makes our country famous. Really, he has his own style to improving this one of the hardest country in the world!

All in all, whoever won the Pilpres soon, I will not forget Jokowi as my one of the best president in Indonesia.

According to the article below the latest polls on Presidential candidates for Indonesia’s 17 presidential elections in 12 days on April 17th. is not a sure thing for either candidate?

Look what happened in America 2 1/2 years ago when the candidate Donald Trump didn't think he had a chance, but intervention, manipulation and perhaps even some collusion plus the weird way that Americans vote using the Electorate College lead to a man becoming president that frankly is embarrassing to most Americans.

Every American I meet recently simply says “he's not my president” I didn’t vote for him. When I ask the question did you vote at all? many shamefully said no because they thought that Clinton was a shoe-in. I don’t embarrass them by saying “so it is your fault that Trump is in”.

Most of the voters that did vote for him are ignorant, having a lack of knowledge of truly what Trump represented. He did well with the blue-collar workers the red neck farmers most of who had no college education and do not keep up on the latest political news. Instead, they took his pledges of building a wall and making “American great again” at face value.

If Indonesians are not careful the same thing could happen here.

As a foreigner, living here for 22 years, I cannot give an opinion on who I suggest would be a good president, the current incumbent Jokowi or the opponent Prabowo.

What I do know is that if you are an Indonesian who cares about Indonesia you want to learn from the American election and don't assume that either one of these candidates will win.

Indonesians suffered tremendously during the downfall of the former dictatorship to achieve the right to vote. Now that you have it don’t be lazy and not vote.

If you want your candidate to win get out and vote on November 17th.

Otherwise, you may end up like current Americans who are embarrassed by their current President and because they didn’t vote.

We are offering our support and even spent some time and money to print a sign and post in an obvious spot close to our main office in Sanur.
Loosely translated this sign means for Indonesians to get out and vote
We will certainly encourage our hundred plus staff to vote not only them partners their family and their friends.
