DENPASAR, BALIPOST.com - The 2018 Sanur Village Festival location was moved from Maisonette Inna Grand Bali Beach Field to the Sunrise Beach. There are many reasons for this move, including the potential for tourism development along with the growing need for the tourism market.
This effort is part of the design of zoning mapping and the development of destinations for the convenience of festival visitors, and tourists who visit Sanur.
A number of ideas and future planning of Sanur tourism development also have a big role in moving this location. One of them is the Matahari Terbit Beach development project with the construction of integrated marina facilities, boat lounges, amphitheater, wantilan, business and retail booths, traditional markets, comfortable beach enjoyment space and helicopter landing areas.
Chairperson of Sanur Village Festival who is also Chair of Denpasar City Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) Ida Bagus Gde Sidharta Putra, said yesterday the city needed a public space with good supporting facilities and believed to be able to stretch various tourism businesses, creative industries, agriculture, agriculture and various other entertainment.
"The transfer of the location of the festival to explore various possibilities for expanding the destination area and providing visitors with flexibility and comfort," he said recently.
The 2018 Sanur Village Festival will be held on August 22-26 with the theme 'Mandala Giri' which is a spirit of thought to focus attention again on Mount Agung. When the volcanic activity of Mount Agung increased in November 2017 and repeatedly erupted to date it is a reality that provides reflection in terms of humanity, brotherhood and approach to nature.

Sanur even though it does not have a mountain, but from the coastal area can be witnessed a panorama of the majestic Mount Agung. Besides that Sanur has a temple which is a pelinggih of Mount Agung, as it is found in Giri Kusuma Temple which means a flower temple built in the middle of the water. This reflects the awareness of the importance of mountains.
For Balinese people, volcanic eruptions are not only as pralina, but also utpeti or the process of creating new life. The flow of minerals carried by mountain water and ash provides fertility and comfort. Eruption events are also interpreted as natural signs for human life.
When Mount Agung erupted in 1917, it was considered a rebuke from the gods because humans ignored Besakih Temple. Once the eruption in 1963 was believed to be a form of goddess anger because of an environmental imbalance and human behavior that neglected to respect the gods.
The increasing volcanic activity of Mount Agung scientifically has been much peeled, but behind it, perhaps it can also be interpreted spiritually as natural signs that give awareness to humans to take forward attitude wisdom.
It is this spirit according to Gusde who wants to be compiled into a force that always makes us aware of empathy, 'equalizing braya' and respect and doing the best for nature. Balinese society which has led to the philosophy of life of Tri Hita Karana, is constantly reminded of keeping Bali both worldly and in its estimation.
Family, mutual cooperation (ngayah), metetulung, and a sense of belonging have been proven to deliver this festival into communal activities that provide real benefits for the residents and a number of coastal communities and the surrounding communities. The spirit of creativity, motivation, and innovation in the form of Sanur that is accommodated and channeled through this festival will continue to be developed to realize a social and cultural order that is prosperous and stable.
