I must say we had an unusual, difficult start to Easter Sunday in Bali.
The night before our Housekeeper came running in and said that "the pump was on fire".
Turned out that a heavy rain the night before had seeped through a cover on the water pump and shorted it out, thus the so-called fire.
Unfortunately there are few places in the world can you find a plumber and a new pump in at 6:AM Easter morning.
I thought to myself this April 1st. could be the start of a Murphy's week or Murphy's months
As I always tell my children everything in life cycles and when you start to get several negative things happening at one time it could be the start of a down cycle, often labelled as Murphy's week or month.
It was not nice waking Easter morning knowing that you could only use one of the 5 toilets only once and although we have a swimming pool you couldn't rinse off with a shower.
Just so happens that my assistant Gusti was out in his village two hours away out of cell phone range and unable to handle problems like this that he would normally take care of a few hours.
It was Easter morning and we had brunch planned at a Hotel Luwih two hours later so all the negative thoughts started about coming home later in the afternoon and not having toilets and showers etc.
Fortunately we have an engineer on duty at our Bali Luxury Villas who caome down 7 AM and scavenged a pump off of another estate to solve this problem.
Later that day after a sumptuous buffet and relaxing afternoon at a brand-new hotel 10 minutes north of us the Rumiah Luwih I was swimming in our pool at home started thinking "why was I so worried and unhappy".
My cup is not half-empty because fortunately we have a team of people to take care of every problem therefore my Cup is half-full and we should think on the positive side because we were able to handle this problem so quickly and come back later that afternoon to normal usage of toilets. showers and cooking facilities etc.
Losers say why does everything always happen to me, e.g. water pump breaking down
Winners say thank God I have the people who have the expertise to take care of this quickly as a result of my working so hard all my life to furnish myself with these blessed benefits.
Here's the photos from the wonderful brunch at the Rumiah Luwih hotel wonderful Easter brunch.
Fortunately I have my lovely wife Azizah who is always smiling and puts up with my antics.
We were joined by my longest friend David Howell originally from Hawaii
The food and the ambiance were luxurious for very very reasonable price
Our oldest son Xander enjoyed many of the local and Western delicacies
My favourite was the duck
The desserts were certainly creative
Only problem was what to choose without filling yourself to capacity
Our two sons although not Christian enjoy every Christian holiday.
Our oldest son Xander is growing up fast into a handsome young man.
Darius will be celebrating his 10th birthday in a few weeks. Still as mischievous as ever.
the chef certainly went out of his way to make Easter special
David appears to enjoy his dessert
Later we retired to the beautiful Lanai looking out over the Indian Ocean
The chefs prepared what I stated later was the best chicken satay I've ever had .
A piano player added to the ambiance
They have a creative housekeeper as well
as usual my stunning wife
The boys relaxing on full stomachs
everybody thoroughly enjoyed the meal
A little privates photo shoot with my free model Azizah

Xander in his dude glasses
A perfect end to what may have been a Murphy's day but the glass was half full
