The official consumer price index which started out at 127.94 in 2017 ended the year at 131.28. That is an increase of 2.61%.
That is great news for employees and employers.
It is good news for employees because it means the average price of consumer goods only went up 2.61%.
It's great news for employers because it means that many of the items that are tied to inflation only increased 2.61 percent.

Many items and wages are tied to inflation in Bali and throughout Indonesia. Companies such as ourselves will be raising costs to our Bali Luxury Villa Owners and our staff by 2.61%.
Considering that you can save money in a time deposit and earn 5% to 6% in Indonesia many people could have made 2% to 3% by leaving their money in a time deposit.
But you should only leave money in there that you need for emergencies. The rest should be invested.
