AirAsia Indonesia Launches Wi-Fi, Inflight Entertainment Services

Malang. AirAsia Indonesia, the local affiliate of Malaysia's largest low-cost carrier, launched Wi-Fi and inflight entertainment services to cater to growing demand.

The new inflight services, dubbed ROKKI, are now available on several domestic and international flights operated by AirAsia Indonesia. The services are supported by Indonesian telecommunications provider Indosat Ooredoo.

"As a cost-effective airline that always adjusts to ever-evolving market demand, we always continue to further innovate. We are proud to be the first low-cost carrier in Indonesia to launch Wi-Fi and inflight entertainment services," AirAsia Indonesia group chief executive Dendy Kurniawan said in a statement on Friday (10/11).

The launch at RedHouse, the headquarters of AirAsia Indonesia in Tangerang, Banten, was attended by Dendy, Indosat Ooredoo director Herfini Haryono and officials from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Tourism.

Passengers can enjoy ROKKI inflight entertainment services through www.rokki.com to watch films or listen to music. They can also access the Wi-Fi service, available in 3-megabyte and 10-megabyte packages.

"We thank Indosat Ooredoo for this partnership and for becoming our service provider. Through this partnership, we can continue to improve the quality of our travel services," Dendy said.

The ROKKI services are currently available on domestic flights between Jakarta and Bali, Yogyakarta and Surabaya (East Java), and international flights to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore and Macau. AirAsia first launched the service in Malaysia in 2014.
