Another wonderful Wedding anniversary on Bali,
“The Island of the Gods”.
On
September 12th. my lovely wife Azizah and wonderful son’s Xander and
Darius.
Celebrated
another glorious year together.
This
year’s anniversary was very special.
Azizah
couldn’t resist the opportunity to take some beautiful photos at home with her
two dozen roses.
We
actually had two anniversary dinners one first with the entire family and two
days later with just Azizah and I.
First with took our two boys to one of our favourite places to dine the Tsavo Lion Restaurant at one of Bali’s top two tourist attractions the Safari and Marine Park.
As always the manager MADE treated us like VIPs and gave us front row seats to watch the lions wake up from their daily naps.
As can be seen one lioness came up and had a drink from the pond only one meter outside the glass closure that protects us from the lions. This close encounter makes you realize how small we are in comparison.
Everyone
was satisfied with a delicious dinner of Roasted Lamb, Crispy Duck and Wagu steak.
A
few days later on Sept. 12 th the actual day of our anniversary we began with a frequent walk on the six km. long Sanur
beach enjoying the ambience of one of the best beaches in the world close to
our award winning PT. Bali Luxury
Villas.
I
wanted our anniversary night to be very special. So I made special arrangements
by calling the general manager of The Legian Hotel, Mr. Regis who is a
fellow member of Skal Bali .
I
asked for seating at their best table which we received.
We
started out in the beachside lounge. Unfortunately, the sunset could not be
seen because of clouds but it was still very magical.
Then
we sat down for what was to be a memorable dinner.
Aziah
had a late luncheon with her friends so was not too hungry so we shared an eight
course meal deigned by the chefs which ranks right up there with one of the
best meals I have enjoyed in my long lifetime anywhere in the world.
And I should
know since I was a chef for severe years in college and currently own a restaurant.
Each
course was unique, not too big to overwhelm, but exciting enough to get the
taste buds going.
The
eight courses included everything from tuna appetizers followed by a lobster appetizer,
duck, lamb and wagu beef. Our pallets were cleansed with a delicious sorbet
Helmed by Executive Chef Luke MacLeod, The

local ingredients with European concept that is in line with its overall brand

showcases the finest produce found in Bali and using a combination of French
and Southeast Asian techniques, emphasizing robust flavours. This spacious,
fine dining brasserie-style restaurant offers a range of light, healthy and
delicious meals from breakfast through dinner.
The
dinner ended with two desserts, including a special one from the manager, with
a happy anniversary message.
I
felt like I needed a wheelchair after the large meal following months of
dieting.
Exclusive
Stay at Bali’s Best Villa.
Seven Star Villa
Then
it was time for a huge surprise for Azizah. A good friend, Tim Robins offered
us his recently completed Villa Vedas which
was voted “The Best Villa in Bali” last year.
The
$5 million dollar plus Villa is truly remarkable.
After
spending a full evening there I finally realized why it took five years to
complete.
I
don’t know why it is called a Villa. Due to its sheer size they should call it
a seven star hotel with it’s five bedrooms, six bathrooms.
It
can certainly host a number of events including weddings, etc...
Every
square centimetre of the place was designed with the utmost in luxury in mind.
All
the bedrooms have ocean and rice paddies views, even a plunge pool on the
second level no less.
Next
morning we took a walk on the beach and enjoyed the oasis feeling with no other
tourists around. The same feeling that we have often on our beach at Pantai Purnama.
We
took many photos to add to our web site where this is the the crown jewel of
the entire website for a price of a little over $5 million.
Later
that day we were treated to an ample breakfast served by Tim’s professional
staff.
All
in all several days of enjoying the best that Bali has to offer to celebrate
our Wedding Anniversary has totally spoiled us on the Best Island in the world.
